TV Series and Screenplay Final Online Voting

Beginning Wednesday, January 13, 2010, Current members in good standing are able to determine the winners of Writers Guild Awards in the following five (5) categories:

ORIGINAL SCREENPLAY

ADAPTED SCREENPLAY

DRAMA TV SERIES

COMEDY TV SERIES

NEW TV SERIES

Voting will be conducted online at: https://eBallot3.votenet.com/wga or click here. For all Awards votes, your login is your last name and your password is your 8 digit Guild member ID number.

The deadline for casting your votes is Friday, February 5, 2010, 12PM PST/3PM EST.

If you are unable to participate in the online voting process, please contact Jennifer Burt at: (323) 782-4569 for information on obtaining a paper ballot.

Documentary Screenplay Award

To be eligible for entry, films must have been exhibited theatrically in Los Angeles or New York for at least one week during 2009. Scripts need not be written under WGA jurisdiction. The deadline for submission is 5 p.m. on December 3, 2009. To submit a script for the Documentary Screenplay Award, please refer to these eligibility rules.

Videogame Writing Award

To be eligible for entry, games must have been originally released between December 1, 2008 and November 30, 2009; subsequent release dates for different platforms do not qualify. The submission deadline is 5 p.m. Tuesday, December 1, 2009. To submit a script for the Videogame Writing Award, please refer to these eligibility rules.

TV eligibility period:
Long Form, Episodic, Animation, and Children’s script categories: First broadcast between Dec 1, 2008 and Nov 30, 2009
All other script categories: First broadcast between Oct 1, 2008 and Sep 30, 2009

Screen eligibility period: Theatrically exhibited in Los Angeles for at least one week during 2009

OCTOBER

F - Oct 16 - Deadline for submission of TV and Paul Selvin Award scripts

F - Oct 23 - Deadline for online submission of TV Series

NOVEMBER

F - Nov 6 - Preliminary TV online balloting online begins
(*Drama, Comedy, and New Series)

F - Nov 27 - Deadline for online submission of theatrical screenplays

DECEMBER

T - Dec 1 - Deadline for Videogame Writing Award submissions

Th – Dec 3 - Deadline for Documentary Screenplay submissions

F - Dec 4 - Deadline for preliminary TV series online ballot voting

W - Dec 9 - Preliminary screenplay online balloting begins

M - Dec 14 - Television, radio, news, promotional writing, and graphic animation nominees announced

Th - Dec 31 - Theatrical eligibility period ends (*Original, Adapted, and Documentary)

JANUARY

F - Jan 8 - Deadline for preliminary screenplay online ballot voting

M - Jan 11 - Screen nominees announced

W - Jan 13 - Final screen and Final TV series online balloting begins

Th - Jan 14 - Videogame Writing Award nominees announced

W - Jan 20 - 27 - The Contenders - WGA-nominated films screening series Writers Guild Theater, Beverly Hills, CA

FEBRUARY

F - Feb 5 - Deadline for Final screen and Final TV online ballot voting

M - Feb 8 - Deadline for Writers Guild Awards dinner tickets reservations
