Donna was raised in Bergenfield, New Jersey. She became the first member of her family to attend college when she entered Yale.
As Manager of Interpretation at the Peabody Essex Museum in Salem, Massachusetts, she managed exhibit content and wrote and directed the Witch City’s biggest Halloween show, Eerie Events, earning mention in David Skaal’s cultural history of Halloween, Death Makes a Holiday.
In 2003 Donna began her MFA in film production at the USC School of Cinematic Arts. She worked her way through film school as the House Mother at Alpha Phi Sorority, and as a writers’ PA for the critically acclaimed drama, Veronica Mars. Later she became assistant to writer/producer Diane Ruggiero.
Donna’s first published short story, “The Road to the Airport,” appeared in Alfred Hitchock’s Mystery Magazine in March of 2008. That same year Donna was selected as a Disney/ABC Television Writing Fellow, and staffed on the ABC drama, Cupid.
