Dating Rules from My Future Self

From the producers of the Gossip Girl TV series, Dating Rules for My Future Self is a Web series launched on Facebook. In the second season online, Dating Rules stars Candice Accola from the TV series The Vampire Diaries.

Easy to Assemble
Actor Illeana Douglas produces and stars in Easy to Assemble, a "branded" Web series set in the world of IKEA. In its fourth season, the series includes guest appearances by Fred Willard, Tom Arnold, and Ed Begley Jr.

WIGS is a YouTube channel created by filmmakers Jon Avnet (Black Swan) and Rodrigo Garcia (Albert Nobbs). The channel offers original Web series, short films, and documentaries, all with the emphasis on female leads that include Julia Stiles, America Ferrera, and Virginia Madsen.


Spleenal is a shocking and beautiful Web comic by British artist Nigel Auchterlounie. A content warning for those viewers who may be easily offended.


From VICE magazine, MotherBoard calls itself a "friendly travel guide to future culture made up of news, finds, and conversations about the edgier side of human progress." Its fascinating and occasionally acerbic articles are presented in clean checkerboard interface.

Grolsch Film Works
Grolsch Film Works is a partner project between the Dutch beer company and VICE magazine. The Web site describes itself as "a celebration of interesting film." The site offers news and opinions on an emerging independent film industry. It's also a global initiative that showcases and cultivates indie filmmaking talent.


Journalist's Toolbox
Presented by the Society of Professional Journalists, Journalist's Toolbox is an online resource blog for reporters that cover news, sports, science, technology, education, and other journalistic subject matters.

Ask a Librarian
From the U.S. Library of Congress, Ask a Librarian offers virtual research services to Congress and other government officials, as well as the general public. Users submit reference queries online and receive answers by email within five days on average. Reference assistance regarding specific subject areas, however, might be provided by chat.

editTeach offers online resources for professional writers and writing teachers with an emphasis on the craft of editing. This Web site was established by a grant from the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation.
