Why Political Action?
"We're in a time of real change. As writers have seen since the early '90s, the power to get writers' words produced are now in the hands of a very few. . . I believe writers share a perspective that is completely different from anyone else's - one about freedom of ideas and expression and sharing it. If the Internet gets choked off in the same way television has it will be to the detriment of writers. It's important to keep in mind that if we're not in the room it doesn't mean other groups won't be. The conglomerates will all be there and don't share our perspective. Having a political program and a PAC are two ways of being in the room." Read more
