Sublime Primetime 2020, co-presented by Writers Guild of America West and Writers Guild Foundation, in partnership with Variety and Final Draft, is going virtual this year for a super-sized celebration of 2020 (72nd) Emmy-nominated writers.
Hosted LIVE on Zoom, we'll feature four panels spotlighting writers nominated in four Emmy writing categories over two days: Drama Series & Limited Series, on August 25; and Comedy Series & Variety Series, on August 26.
Panelists scheduled to appear include: Dan Amira (The Daily Show with Trevor Noah), Tanya Barfield (Mrs. America), Kristen Bartlett and Mike Drucker (Full Frontal with Samantha Bee), Susannah Grant and Michael Chabon & Ayelet Waldman (Unbelievable), Sam Johnson & Chris Marcil (What We Do in the Shadows), Damon Lindelof & Cord Jefferson (Watchmen), Tony McNamara (The Great), Chris Mundy (Ozark), Stefani Robinson (What We Do in the Shadows), Thomas Schnauz (Better Call Saul), Michael Schur (The Good Place), Paul Simms (What We Do in the Shadows), Gordon Smith (Better Call Saul); Host: Kelvin Yu (Bob’s Burgers); 8/26 host: Jenelle Riley, Variety’s Deputy Awards and Features Editor; additional talent TBA.
